RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE NATIONAL ADVISOR and ACTING STATE DIRECTOR

The National Advisor and Acting State Director oversees all Chapters in the State of Ohio to ensure everyone follows the National Constitution and By-laws of Rolling Thunder® Inc.  The National Advisor and Acting State Director is appointed by our National Chapter whenever a state has more than three chapters.  The National Advisor and Acting State Director will also work with Chapters to correct and amend issues at the local level.  If coordination at the local level is not possible, the responsibility lies with the National Advisor and Acting State Director to convene a State Board meeting consisting of the State Chapter Presidents.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

  1. To lead committees and to report to the Chairman of the Board on all Chapter affairs.

  2. To perform in the best interest of this organization.

Responsibilities of the President

  1. Preside over meetings.

  2. To supervise the general affairs of the Chapter.

  3. To appoint committees as needed.

  4. To be a valid signatory on all Chapter checks.

  5. To know and coordinate the duties and activities of officers and chairpersons.

  6. To obtain all copies of member's DD-214.

  7. To perform in the best interest of this organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE VICE PRESIDENT

  1. To perform all duties of the President in the event of their absence.

  2. To perform all duties requested by the President.

  3. To perform in the best interest of this organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STATE V.A. REPRESENTATIVE
  1. To keep all Ohio Chapters in compliance with V.A. credited volunteer duties.

  2. Maintain annual joint reviews for all Ohio Chapters.

  3. Attend monthly and quarterly V.A. meetings at the Brecksville and Wade Park V.A. hospitals.

  4. Supervise all floor visits of Chapter personnel to V.A. facilities.

  5. Document all Ohio Chapter members' volunteer hours into the V.A. database.

  6. Assist the V.A. Volunteer Program staffs at both Brecksville and Wade Park V.A. hospitals.

  7. Report to the Rolling Thunder® National Chapter representatives on a quarterly basis.

  8. Assist local V.A. Annex facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
  1. To oversee all committees and to report to the President of their progress.

  2. To perform in the best interest of this organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SECRETARY
  1. To make written and recorded records of all meetings.

  2. To provide four copies of the Minutes, one each to the following: the President, Vice President, Chairman of the Board and Treasurer.

  3. To conduct and report on all correspondence of the Chapter.

  4. To make and maintain a list of each committee, their members and duties.

  5. To help maintain applications.

  6. To perform in the best interest of this organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TREASURER
  1. To have custody of all corporation funds.

  2. To be responsible for all money collected, for depositing money and for collecting dues.

  3. To disburse money as approved by Board and/or Chapter members.

  4. To prepare written reports monthly on all monetary transactions and to give an oral report at membership/board meetings.

  5. To prepare books for quarterly audits.

  6. To ensure that the Chapter funds are used for the benefit of the Chapter.

  7. To perform in the best interest of this organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SERGEANT AT ARMS
  1. To call general meetings to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

  2. To ensure all meeting/events run without interruption.

  3. To assist in collecting patches from members "not in good standing."

  4. To perform in the best interest of this organization.

Responsibilities of the Chaplain

  1. The goal of the Chaplains Committee is to support Ohio Chapter 2 membership as well as finding ways to help our local homeless veterans and our local disabled and hospitalized veterans.

  2. This Committee serves as a central point of contact to keep Ohio Chapter 2 members informed of member illnesses, military obligations [click here to see our relatives serving overseas], and prayer needs [click here to see prayer needs].

Responsibilities of the Membership & Member Recognition Committee
  1. To maintain a roster of all members of the Chapter.
  2. To notify National of any new members.
  3. To maintain all applications.
  4. To perform in the best interest of this organization.
Responsibilities of the ROAD CAPTAIN
  1. To promote safe riding practices for all Chapter runs.
  2. To work with law enforcement in making out routes for all runs.
  3. To appoint road guards to allow for safe passage on chapter runs.
  4. To perform in the best interest of this organization.

 

Responsibilities of Web Master
  1. The continual development and maintenance of the Chapter's official Web site.

  2. The Web Master must ensure that the Web site source code is periodically duplicated, with duplicate maintained offsite, along with a copy of the source code provided to the Chapter President, so as to ensure continuity of ownership and availability of the site.

  3. Working with Ohio Chapter 2 Officers, Directors and Chairpersons to enhance the Web site to ensure that content is current and in keeping with expectations.
