| February 2008 DISPATCH from the CHAIRMAN of the BOARD |
Hello all. Well, here we are in the middle of February - cold - snow - wind - chill - black ice and all that makes you appreciate the warmer months. Speaking of cold and snow, our last two visits to the Wade Park V.A. Hospital were tough. In December, it was almost a blizzard; last week it was bitter cold with high winds. My thanks to those who were tough enough to brave those conditions. The veterans at the hospital sure did appreciate it. It warms the heart to see the smiles on our veterans faces when they know that others appreciate their sacrifice, bravery, and dedication to our country. On to other matters. Our Thunder Trailer is finished; looking forward to getting it out in parades and such to spread the word on our POW/MIA mission. We will have pictures in the near future for all to see. Also our Charity Raffle tickets are in for the chance on the 2008 Harley Davidson DYNA FXD. You can pick up your Charity Raffle tickets to sell at our next meeting or by calling Pam Murray - she is in charge of the distribution of the tickets. This is a great way for our organization to raise money so we can continue to support our veterans. Well, I know it's cold outside now but spring is right around the corner, so tough it out and we will all be riding again soon!!! Semper Fi Doug Wisor

| November 2007 DISPATCH from the CHAIRMAN of the BOARD |
Hello all, Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I would like to send out a "thank you" to all who donated and helped distribute the Thanksgiving Baskets last week. It's great that we are able to put this together and give help where it's needed. A special thank you to Inland Paper for the donation of the many fine turkeys. As you may well know, our Thunder Truck has been sold and a trailer has been ordered to replace it. I believe this will be a good outlet to get our mission of POW/MIA awareness out to the public. You can read our Web Masters page for more info on this. The gathering at Rittman National Cemetery for Sgt. Jeremy Murray was very moving and quite touching. Harold, you did your son proud!! And then there was the deer that appeared at the cemetery during the remembrance gathering, we all know what that was about. We have a Wade Park VA visit coming up in December - check our calendar for date and time. This one is a pizza party and ditty bags to pass out. Looking forward to it - hope to see you all there. It sure brightens the Vet's day to know that we care and appreciate their sacrifice for our country. Happy belated birthday to my fellow Marines. Doug Wisor

| June 2007 DISPATCH from the CHAIRMAN of the BOARD |
Hello everyone, Well we are back from D.C. safe and sound. We had great weather the whole time there and a great time was had by all. Only one bolt in a headlight on the way out and one swing arm bolt lost on the way back. I want to thank everyone who made the trip for your support to the Chapter and our mission to keep the POW/MIA issue on the front burner. Special thanks to Ty Geiser for setting up the White House tour, what a sight that was. Several of our members and guests had the pleasure of going to the Marine Corps Barracks for their Friday night show. Tell you what, those Jarheads got it together, their precision and dedication sent chills through ya. Not to mention goosebumps; makes you proud to know there are such fine young men and women out there willing to do what it takes! Well, we have a busy couple of months ahead of us, lots or runs and a visit to Wade Park coming up. Hope to see you there. Ride safe! Doug Wisor

| March 2007 DISPATCH from the CHAIRMAN of the BOARD |
Hello all, Well the winter blues will soon be over and spring is right around the corner. Not a minute to soon I might add! It has been a nasty February for us all, and I know we are ready to do some riding. On your first couple rides, remember that your riding skills are probably a little rusty. So take it slow and easy until you get back in the feel of the road. On other matters, there are a lot of ideas and suggestions on the board's agenda. We are all working hard to get these resolved with the best interests of Rolling Thunder® and all our members. Your input is always welcomed and encouraged. On our last visit to the Wade Park V.A. Hospital, we had 23 members attend which was good, but we can do better. Our Vets feel much better when their day is brightened by total strangers, showing them how much we care and appreciate them. Let's take some time out of our busy schedules and show some respect to our veterans. If you watched the Fox 8 TV channel on Feb. 26 & 27th and saw the "Stolen Valor" I Team report, all I will say as an ex Marine . . . how dare he disrespect the Corps!!!! He deserves everything that will come of his actions!!!! Doug Wisor

December 2006 DISPATCH from the CHAIRMAN of the BOARD |
As your new Chairman Of The Board, I want to let you all know I take this responsibility very seriously. And I will do all I can to make this great organization an even better one for all of us. If any of the membership has any ideas for improvement or would like to voice some complaints, please feel free to tell me and the appropriate action will be taken. This is our organization and only we can make it work. And only we can make it better. Also we must stay ever vigilant to keep the POW/MIA issue in the forefront as all veterans past, present and future deserve our respect and support. Ride safe. Doug Wisor |
